2014 has been an interesting journey. Writers, spots, and stylistic gimmicks have come and gone. Some had beef, others got over. Graffiti has been in the public eye more than ever before, and consequentially more “outsiders” are attempting to commodify and profiteer from the rap-sprays. Is Graffiti really a lifestyle choice? An attitude? Fine art? The question of whether Graffiti can exist in a gallery environment still has not been answered to my satisfaction.
The continued expansion of social media has increasingly marginalised the “traditional” blog format. Is it worth continuing with Frogsnakes now that people can update you on all the graffiti happenings via Facebook, Tumblr, Instagram, Snapchat etc? Maybe. At any rate I shall endeavour to continue as long as it doesn’t bankrupt me or become too arduous.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those that have supported Frogsnakes over the past four years. It does cost money to run, and doesn’t generate any income. It is done simply for my own enjoyment.
Real recognise real in 2015.
